What we do

Kastro IT works two ways: an ongoing managed contract that makes us your IT department, or defined one-time projects. Either way, you get a clear scope and a quote before any work starts — no meters running, no surprise invoices.

01 · Managed IT & Security

Your IT department, for a flat monthly rate.

Most small businesses don't need an IT hire — they need someone accountable for the whole picture: keeping machines healthy, keeping the bad stuff out, and picking up the phone when something breaks. That's the contract.

Monitoring & maintenanceWe watch your computers, servers, and network around the clock and fix small problems before they become workday-ending ones.
Updates & patchingSecurity updates applied on schedule, tested, without you thinking about them. Out-of-date software is how most businesses get hurt; yours won't be.
Helpdesk & supportA real person who knows your business, for everything from "my email won't send" to "the office is down." Remote first, on-site when it matters.
Security baselineEvery device protected, every account behind strong sign-in, email filtered, access limited to who actually needs it. Standard on every contract — we don't sell safety back to you as an upgrade.
Vendor managementInternet provider acting up? Printer contract renewal? Software licensing? We deal with the vendors so you don't spend your afternoon on hold.
Straight answersPlain-English reporting on what we did, what we found, and what's worth planning for. No jargon, no upsell theater.

Who it's for: Businesses with roughly 5–50 staff and no dedicated IT person — offices, practices, shops, and local operations that just need it all to work.

02 · Backup & Disaster Recovery

Backed up is nice. Recoverable is the point.

Plenty of businesses have backups. Far fewer have ever tested one. The difference only shows up on the worst day — when a drive dies, a laptop walks off, or a bad click encrypts a decade of files. We build for that day.

Managed backupsYour files, email, and systems copied automatically to secure storage, on a schedule that fits how your business actually works.
Tested restoresWe regularly restore from your backups to prove they work. A backup that's never been tested is a hope, not a plan.
Ransomware-resistant copiesBackup copies are kept where an attacker on your network can't reach them, so one bad day can't take both your files and your fallback.
Recovery planningA written, realistic answer to "how long until we're working again?" — for a dead server, a flooded office, or anything in between.
Recovery, when it countsWhen something does go wrong, we run the restore and get you back to work. That's the whole reason this service exists.

Note: Included in most managed contracts; also available standalone if you keep IT in-house but want the safety net handled properly.

03 · Projects & One-Time Work

Defined scope. Fixed quote. Done right.

Not everything needs a contract. Some things just need doing — and doing well enough that you're not paying for them twice.

Office moves & new locationsNetwork, Wi-Fi, workstations, and phones ready on day one at the new address.
Hardware refreshAging computers and servers replaced with the right equipment — specified for what you do, not what a sales quota needed.
Email & file migrationsMoving your email or files to a modern setup without losing history or a workday.
Cleanups & second opinionsInherited a mess? Not sure your current setup is protecting you? We'll assess it, tell you the truth, and fix what needs fixing.
Emergency helpSomething's broken right now and whoever set it up isn't answering. Call us. If we can help, we will — and after the fire's out, we'll tell you honestly what it would take to prevent the next one.

How it works: You describe the job, we scope it, you get a fixed quote. Many project clients ask us to stay on afterward — that's how most of our managed relationships start.
