The high ground for your business IT.
In Greek, a kastro is a fortified hilltop town — the place built to be defensible first, where the community keeps what matters. That's the idea this company is built on: your business technology should be arranged so the bad day, when it comes, is a small one.
The way we work
Security first, by default.
Most IT problems that make the news weren't exotic — they were unlocked doors: missed updates, weak sign-ins, backups nobody checked. We don't sell those protections as extras. Every client, every system, gets the defensible setup from day one, because doing it any other way means charging you extra for the parts that matter most.
We run what we sell.
Kastro IT's own systems run on infrastructure we build and operate ourselves — not rented dashboards we've never looked behind. When we make a recommendation, it's one we've already lived with. We hold our own IT to the standard we'll hold yours.
Small on purpose.
When you work with Kastro IT, you work with the engineer responsible for your systems — the same person who set them up, monitors them, and answers when you call. No account managers, no ticket roulette, no explaining your setup from scratch to a stranger. That's not a limitation we're apologizing for; it's the service.
Plain English, honest answers.
You'll always know what we did, why, and what it costs before it happens. If something isn't worth your money, we'll say so — keeping your trust is worth more to us than any single invoice.
Close enough to show up.
We're based in Wilmington, Illinois, and we work where we can realistically show up — within about two hours, from the south Chicago suburbs down through Kankakee and out to Bloomington–Normal. Small businesses here deserve the same quality of IT that big companies budget millions for. Building that, locally, is the job.
